The ‘Balance’
of Door 11: Two #1(Mage’s)
Aislinn (#0 The Fool)
is silenced by the shadow self
Aislinn’s Astrology:
Taurus Sun, Gemini Rising
Jupiter conjuncts Black Moon Lilith completes the fire Kite
Midheaven & Moon in Pisces
Yod: Midheaven. North Node. Sun.
Twin energies rise up
expanding and contracting
in the light of Luppiter
where the shadow moon sits.
To the north winds carry a blue kite
over ancestral fires in the south,
quelled by the rains of Midheaven’s moonlight
where the finger of God
touches the air and the earth.
Aislinn is fated to meet the Priestess as two energies.
The paradox of being guided to the High Priestess by an inner voice and connection to source, only to be swallowed by The Dark Priestess into the fear and pain of her ancestral bloodlines (Mother & father wounds).
Silently screaming, Aislinn's pain is birthed as Lilith’s black moon.
Thoughts on the Shadow Self.
(The Ego, the dark reflection, the divided self, the wounded self, twin energy, the persona or mask)
“This confrontation is the first test of courage on the inner way, a test sufficient to frighten off most people, for the meeting with ourselves belongs to the more unpleasant things that can be avoided so long as we can project everything negative into the environment. But if we are able to see our own shadow and can bear knowing about it, then a small part of the problem has already been solved: we have at least brought up the personal unconscious...” Carl Jung

Whatever term you may choose to use (Shadow, Ego, Mask, Doppelganger…) whatever original source the ‘terminology or symbolism’ originates from (Jung, Freud, ancient primal cultures, mythology)
Bringing the darkness into the light. Acknowledging your wounds and ‘negative’ fear based personality traits, accepting and working with them is what shadow work is all about.
More and more collectively, globally there seems to be a broader understanding and a stronger sense of responsibility to ‘do the shadow work.’ Past ideas often caught up in particular religious ideologies of avoiding or suppressing the Ego have created an imbalance in us. Sorry, but you and I are not all ‘light and love’ no matter how many affirmations and feel good quotes we read in a day. Your shadow is actually an essential part of you. Its shifting role as your mask or persona helps you as a physical being to navigate the world. It creates structure for your mind and your emotions. An imbalanced ego can create an exaggerated selfishness, a nihilistic illusion of who we are thus creating a disconnection from source. When the ego is accepted fully (as a balance of light & dark) it strengthens us. We develop a more authentic sense of self. We identify as individuals with unique gifts and insights. We are grounded with a sense of purpose, still as egocentric humans but connected to a collective source of understanding and energy. - Often referred to as aether or quintessence (the fifth element) or the universal divine shared knowledge (Akashic records) We are strong alone and as a whole - A very Aquarius energy as we move into Aquarius season, also throwing in the recent and not so small shift of Pluto (known as the underworld shadow planet!) into Aquarius.
This is why shadow work is vital. In fact the more you stand in the light the stronger your shadow is cast. We must learn to live with ‘it’ (our whole self) as a balanced energy (your yin to your yang)
Is it hard work?..umm hell yes but you have a better chance of not fearing something once you come to understand it.
Childhood conditioning? Ancestral (mother, father wounds) Social expectations. Misunderstood mental health conditions. Loss and trauma. Modern life and its disconnection to nature therefore a disconnection to ‘source.’ Our senses flooded with noise and artificial light. Toxic negativity and toxic positivity. The collective pain of our modern world.
Mistakes and negative patterns that are passed down through generations through fear and denial are brought out into the light and dealt with, spoken about, cried over, screamed out.
Face your shadows and do the work!
Have the awkward conversations. Work on your self esteem. Nurture your mind and your body. Forgive others (not for them, but to free yourself of the heavy energy of that person or wound) and forgive yourself. Learn to say no. Learn resilience, it will be necessary as you heal, for not all others will join you and many won’t be ready to understand you. That’s ok, that’s their shadow journey, you have your own. Take responsibility for your own sensitivities and your triggers in situations. Are your family members or work colleagues being disrespectful, judgemental, overly critical, (perhaps they are?) Work through it, communicate where you can. Remove yourself from situations when and where you can. Take the initiative to reestablish boundaries. To gently but firmly correct or address them over their poor behaviour. Call them to account. OR are you perhaps feeling overly defensive. Are you projecting fears from past experiences into the present environment? Are you full of anxiety and ready to leave the moment you arrive? Ok. Why? This is shadow work. It's calling out those around you but it's also about calling out yourself. Practicing what we preach is one of the hardest things to do. There can be a lot of hot air behind people's words and little action to back it up.
Do the work! Be the change.
"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” - Mahatma Gandhi
With love, light & shadow
